…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST SATURDAY

February 22, 2008

Karma is not on my side today. It’s wet, gross, and generally icky throughout the SouthEast PA area, and for some reason, our lovely intern and I were the only people on my team that could make it in. And you best believe I’m getting on out of here early enough to avoid this evenings commute.

Coming in at all was an act of stupidity. Apparently, I’m not one to take winter storm warnings seriously. According to AccuWeather:

…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS UPGRADED THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY TO A WINTER STORM WARNING…WHICH IS INEFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST SATURDAY.

SNOW THIS MORNING WILL MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZINGRAIN BY ABOUT MIDDAY…AND THEN TO RAIN BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON FROM SOUTHEAST TO NORTHWEST. RAIN OR ANY MIXED PRECIPITATION MAY CHANGE BACK TO SNOW TONIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF SATURDAY MORNING.

IN ADDITION… A GLAZE OFICE WILL BE POSSIBLE IN AREAS THAT EXPERIENCE FREEZING RAIN. THIS STORM WILL IMPACT THIS MORNINGS COMMUTE AND POTENTIALLY EVEN THIS EVENINGS COMMUTE. IF YOU NEED TO TRAVEL TODAY…USE EXTRACAUTION AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW…SLEET…AND ICE ARE EXPECTED. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS. \
